In 1990 he studied at the San Alejandro Academy and serves as Consultant Professor at the Higher Institute of Art, Havana, Cuba.
Through his art, he expresses the essence of the slave in contemporary black man as a permanent theme, using found materials. In his work the conflict of the African diaspora is denoted in the passing of the years. Its creation reflects the resistance and the fight for the day to day.
Among his most important awards is the Juan Francisco Elso Annual National Prize for Contemporary Painting, National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba.
His work is treasured by more than 20 important Collections in the world, including the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba.
