Did you know...

Por las Huellas de Guayabo Blanco is a book written and edited by the plastic artist Jesús González de Armas; its content is dedicated to the pictographic investigation of La Isla de Pinos.

It is an exhaustive study that began in 1975 and ended with publication in 1977, by Editorial Extramuros, one of the oldest and most representative labels in Cuba and that this year would be celebrating 45 years of creation, which makes her the dean of active publishing houses in the country.

As an unpublished and curious fact, the red tree has the scoop of publishing a fragment of the artist's original manuscript when he was writing this notebook; In addition, our files consist of a unique photo that reflects the personality and gesture of the artist. This photo was taken by the well-known and excellent photographer Chino López in 1987.

We are grateful for the information and the files to the art professional and collector José Almarales, who reserves dissimilar works by the artist in his collection and has in his possession a study carried out by González de Armas in the 70s, not only of the caves of Isla de Pinos, but the complete investigation of all caves in Cuba.
