The 2020 National Prize for Plastic Arts was conferred on the renowned painter and printmaker Rafael Zarza González, considered one of the highest exponents of graphic arts in the country.
According to the record, Zarza is recognized, a versatile and wide projection that includes not only the author's graphics, but also the political poster, the poster for theatrical shows; as well as album covers, illustrations, drawings, paintings and installations.
Among other merits of the artist, the jury also took into account the formal and conceptual contributions of his work, as well as the internationalist work displayed by him in the Majadahonda People's Republic, one of the many recognitions of which he has been credited.
It only remains to wait, then, that the National Museum of Fine Arts plans a date to once again contemplate a great exhibition of this great artist, and show off his well-deserved award.
