Sculptor and engraver. One of the most important exponents of the generation of the 90s in Cuba. Creator of the event La Huella Múltiple in 1996, together with Belkis Ayón, Sandra Ramos and Ibrahim Miranda; For which he was awarded the National Curatorship Award conferred by the National Council of Plastic Arts.
Abel Barroso is part of a generation of artists who aesthetically renewed the Cuban engraving in the early 1990s, transforming the traditional woodcut technique into three-dimensional objects.
His work is frequently exhibited in the US, Latin America, Japan, and Europe.
