1900, Cienfuegos, Cuba / 1974, Cienfuegos, Cuba.
Self-taught folk artist.
Over time, he acquired the recognition of the Cuban artistic community and began to have his paintings in exhibitions inside and outside the country.
The strong presence of his popular art is felt with the rise of the amateur movement, bringing other discourses and narratives into vogue, standing out alongside artists such as Gilberto de la Nuez, Ruperto Jay Matamoros, Benito Ortíz, among others.
Some of his works are treasured by the National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba.
