Mario García Joya

Photographer, filmmaker and art teacher.

From 1955 to 1957, he studied painting at the San Alejandro Academy. Study graphic design. Graduated in Cuban Studies from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Havana.

From 1957 to 1965, he worked for advertising agencies and made photo reports for the press. He started at the Cinematographic Institute in 1961, as a documentary cameraman, and in 1971 he was promoted to Director of Photography, a job in which he excels.

Make covers for brochures, books and records. He is the author of theoretical texts. Jury in national and international competitions and member of the Selection Council of important Museums and Institutions of Mexico, Italy and France.
Lives and works in Havana, Cuba.
