Nelson Domínguez

1947, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.

Painter, engraver, ceramist and sculptor.

In 1965 he took the tests at the National School of Art and they accepted him. In 5th year he was already one of the most outstanding students of his School together with Pedro Pablo Oliva and Flora Fong. After finishing his studies, he remained as a teacher at the school until 1980 and then six more years at the Higher Institute of Art. There he is a member of the faculty of the Engraving specialty, of which he is a Consultant Professor and of the Diploma of Artistic Merit.

Among his dissimilar awards, the National Prize for Plastic Arts stands out, Havana, Cuba, in 2009.

The National Museum of Fine Arts, the Ministry of Culture, the Museo de la Cerámica Castillo Real Fuerza, and the Council of State of Havana, Cuba, treasure works by the artist.

Lives and works in Havana, Cuba.
