Photographer by profession. One of the most important artists of his generation with a very particular language.
He joined the national photographic world in the late 1980s, putting himself at the forefront of the new trends in Cuban photography from 1990 on, firstly, by addressing interiors and domestic situations in his current Cuba and then delving into his own body on issues such as blackness, sexual ambiguity and the influence of consumerism and the market through self-portraits.
Among his most important awards, it is worth mentioning that of 1993, Honorable Mention in the UNESCO / ACCU World Photography Competition; that of 1996, the OLORUM CUBANO Prize, sponsored by the Cuban Fund for Photographic Image and that of 2002, the Grand Prize of the Caribbean Biennial, held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
