Show Art

1959, Havana, Cuba

Painter, draftsman and creator of installations.

In 1972 he entered the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, decided to enroll and learn the academic budgets of painting, a specialty from which he graduated in 1976. Given his predilection for drawing images from primitive cultures, he was encouraged by Professor Antonio Alejo to find out about indigenous art. Thus, he was gradually introduced to learning about the cultures of non-Western tradition, and he was instructed in the visualization of pre-Columbian, African and oceanic art.

Then in 1976, he was part of the first class of the then newly founded Higher Institute of Art, where he enrolled in painting.

In 1982 he won the Grand Prize at the Salón Landscape 82, organized by the Museo Nacional de Bellas with his work Afluente.

He obtained some scholarships abroad, which allowed him to go much deeper in his studies.

He served as an instructor, gallery director, painting and easel restorer and was accepted as a professor at ISA.

In the early 90's he moved to Mexico and then to the United States.

Some of his works are part of the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba.

He currently lives and works in the United States.
