Cuban photographer, filmmaker and critic.

He studied photography in the studio of the artist Raúl Martínez, he also studied architecture and in 1968 he abandoned the latter to dedicate himself to photography.

In 1973 he began to write a film section in the monthly El Caimán Barbudo and to collaborate as a film and visual arts critic in other publications. From 1976 to 1981 he worked in Cuban TV as Head of Cinematographic Programming and later as head of propaganda, in 1981 he worked as Chief Editor of Orbe Magazine. In 1983 he went, first as a film consultant and later, as a director, to the Granma Studios, until 1992. He gave lectures on the History of Photography in Cuba and Spain, gave workshops and worked as a freelance.

Among his most important awards is the Cuban Photography Award in 1982.

He stood out particularly for a work of sensitive testimonial and aesthetic values ​​that placed him at the forefront among artists in his specialty who alternated photojournalism and art photography.
