Cuban painter and draftsman. He graduated from the Enrique José Varona Higher Institute of Plastic Education. He was a professor at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in Havana, from 2000 to 2002.

He is one of the contemporary Cuban artists who conceives creation as an exercise in visual memory. This artist chooses the historical portrait as a fundamental theme. His pieces have a testimonial character in various senses, he looks for the past and relates it to the present. Its protagonists are heroes, political or cultural personalities and society itself. His language is insightful and unique in aesthetics.

He has also made installations and video art.
