Cuban photographer.
Graduated from the School of Plastic Arts. He studied Museography and Museology at the Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. He arrived in Venezuela in 1993 with an outstanding career in documentary photography.
He worked as a graphic designer until he saw the opportunity, at age 20, to work as a theater photographer at the National Council of Culture.
Grandal was one of the first Cuban photographers to exhibit in the United States after the end of the Cold War. Since 1966 he offers conferences and workshops in different Universities and Institutions. It has been published in multiple magazines, newspapers and photobooks.
In 1998 he received in Venezuela, the Mention of the Josune Dorronsoro Latin American Photography Award from the Museum of Fine Arts in Caracas; He was also awarded the unique Prize of the International Festival of Light in 2000 and the Photography Prize of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
His pieces are part of Casa de las Américas and the National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba.
