Plastic artist and poet.
Considered a comprehensive artist. He has alternated figurative and abstract stages, where he has collected his experiences in cities such as Paris, Mexico and New York.
Started in the world of sculpture, Girona has evolved to become a master of painting, drawing and engraving. His creativity also extends to the novel and poetry.
In 1930 he entered San Alejandro. Sicre student in Sculpture. When the San Alejandro Academy was closed by Machado, he continued his studies in Sicre's workshop until 1934. In that same year he traveled to France, later to Berlin, studied sculpture for three months with Ernesto di Fiore. He returned to France and entered the Ranson Academy in Paris and studied sculpture.
In 1937 he settled in New York, as a temporary assistant at the Clay Club gallery. He works as a cartoonist and cartoonist. In the 1950s he lived in New Jersey and carried out important exhibitions during those years.
From 78 to 79 he taught drawing classes at the Higher Institute of Art, Havana, Cuba. It has works located in different parts of the world.
Among his most important awards is the Sculpture Prize at the Paris Biennial, France, in 1961, and the National Prize for Plastic Arts, Havana, Cuba in 1995.
